Sadler Green client, Anja Margrethe Bache, has used our transfer decals to create a ceramic installation exhibition at Officinet in Copenhagen, which was on public view between the 10th October and 2nd November 2014.
The exhibition was the brainchild of our client in collaboration with ceramic designer Ane-Katrine von Bülow. Their work examined ornamentation as play, revolving around repetition, scale and the combinatory principles of order. In addition, they set out to show ornamentation as a recognisable figuration along with abstract geometrical pattern.
Sadler Green supplied forty-two A3 ceramic transfer decals for Anja to use on ceramic glazed concrete- a material which she has developed, fired and stoneware-baked.
The transfers consisted of the recognisable façade of the Officinet building, which were then fragmented and dissolved beyond recognition. A short video created by Anja shows the finished pieces set up in the exhibition using clips she had recorded during the installation process, combining these with photographs taken by Ole Akhøj.
Further information about the exhibition can be found on her website along with examples of her other work and commentaries.
